What is AI?

AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the ability of machines to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. This includes things like understanding language, recognising images, solving problems, and learning from experience.

At its core, AI is about teaching computers to “think” or at least act smart based on data and patterns. Some AI systems are simple, like recommending movies or filtering spam. Others are more advanced, like chatbots, self-driving cars, or tools that can write and create on their own.

There are different types of AI, from basic automation to more complex systems like machine learning and large language models. But the goal is the same: to help machines make sense of the world and do useful things — often faster, cheaper, or more accurately than humans can.
