Can Sensay's AI agents access patient medical records and history to provide more personalized advice?
By default, Sensay does not access patient EHRs or medical records. For privacy and safety, the AI only uses information that is explicitly provided or integrated.
-
Controlled Integrations: Accessing patient history would require a deliberate integration with your systems and, importantly, patient consent. For example, you could connect the AI to a secure database through the Sensay API — under strict controls that you define.
-
Default Operation: Out of the box, the AI agent works only with the knowledge it has been given and general medical information. It will never retrieve personal health data unless authorized and supplied.
-
Regulatory Compliance: Sensay adheres to health privacy regulations (HIPAA, etc.) and is designed to handle PHI securely when compliant integrations are in place.
In summary: Sensay will not automatically pull patient records. With explicit setup and consent, it can be configured to use certain patient data — always in a compliant and controlled way.
